                                      Twists of Fate: Chapter Three
                                                  A Women and a Brute

Zandaris had been sleeping for hours upon hours, slowly regaining his lost strength. His body was recovering fast but a bodys healing can be cured with time. A mind and soul that has been destroyed and burned with pain, hatred, and despair can never be truly healed. Zandaris knew that even though time heals all wounds, but his subconscience knew better and would never truly heal the wounds that burn his very soul and essence. His mind raced with thoughts that would make ordinary mens mind explode or go mad. But even though he witnessed such horrors, such pain and misery that would lace his soul and mind with an eternal pain for the rest of his life he holds strong and lives to fight another day. Such courage and strength from an ordinary man from the ice village is rare among the world of chaos and dispair. He lay upright in a pool of water that seemed to revive him slowly.

Zandaris slowly woke up from his groggy state to find himself surrounded in water. He wore nothing but his undergarments for his armor was found hanging by a near by tree along with the rest of his equipment. He lifted up his arm in pain for his body still ached with pain "ugh....where....am....I?" he asked as he hissed from pain. He looked around when his vision was restored "this.....place.....seems....." he gasped in pain when he tried to lift up both arms to lift himself out "ow, my.....arm feels like its......burning"

A womens voice gently called out to respond "dont try to move. your body is slowly recovering from your past inflictions. Im amazed that you survived the pool of rejuvination. Most people usually pass out or cant handle the pools magic. Too strong for most and they usually die from magic overdose" the voice seemed to whipser around him like a ghost or a whisper of the wind twirling around him. Next the voice seemed to be right next to his ear, touched it but nothing was there "your a strong one Zandaris"

Zandaris reacted when he heard his name "how..." he hissed from pain "how....do you know....my name" he tried once more to get up only to fall down as he withered in pain "ugh, how do you know....my name strange one?" His mind now raced with questions and his body was a blur with pain but drove to move and to possibly defend its self. His mind was speaking but his body tried to reject it as he yelled one more time "how....do...you know....my name!"

The women then chuckled as she calmy responded "i know many things about you, warrior of ice. I know about your past and your present. I hear whispers and yells of those who live by my forest." A whoosing sound as if a astral body was floating around the mist of the pool was heard "I know about your pain, your suffering, your torment" the mist seemed to form in front of Zandaris's face and an arm reached out to him and brushed his face "and im sorry. Im sorry for your suffering and your torment" her face disappeared back into the mist but a body formed outside the mist and slowly walked through and up to him.

Zandaris was speachless as he witnessed this womens movement as she walked to him. He could only look at her feet as his head was heavy but every step she took closer to him, the more strength he felt return to him and he spent every bit of it to look up as much as he could to see the women who knew him but he didnt know her. He gazed as he saw the womens slender but strong figure. As he continued to look up, his eyes rejected but soon embraced her beauty as well as her aura which seemed natural and loving but also harsh and wise.

Finally he was able to view this wonderous maidens face. His eyes were drawn to every aspect of her beauty and her grace. He gazed upon her sterling silver eyes which held no evil or hatred. He looked upon her long, flowing hair that was the embrace of a marsh's color. Her skin was white as an oaks under trunk yet it seemed course as its bark. Her body was slender as a whispering willow tree for it was slender but strong yet held beauty in its sway. But his eyes werent attracted to her attrative body but was drawn back up to her face which held a soft, delicate touch of compassion yet it held a secret of harsh memorys and past pains.

The woment smiled compassionatly as he looked into her eyes "well, you know my name. But what name has been bestowed upon such a beauty of nature" he said. The woman sweetly laughed at the compliment "very well, brave one. My name is Charlene. Charlene Tagaial of the earth kingdom of Gaia. I am the guardian of these woods as well as its caregiver. I maintain the true nature of these trees, to ensure they survive those who wish to harm the delicate balance of nature." she dissapeared behind a wall of leaves then reappeared next to Zandaris and sat right next to him "and as of this moment. your my patient and a surviver of a trully horrific slaughter"

Zandaris finally mustered the strength to talk "Charlene, how is it you know so much about me though. My village is far from the woods. A days walk from here at best" Charlene smiled and pressed one finger against his lips "I have my ways" as she winked at him "but for now, rest. Your in good hands." Zandaris was drifting to sleep when finally his body gave in and allowed him to have some rest as his body slowly recovered. Charlene watched as he slowly drifted to sleep "such a sweet man, hes been through so much. I hope he gets well soon" she said. After he fell asleep, Charlene smiled sweetly and gave him a kiss on the cheek "sweet dreams brave one"

After Charlene got up and walk to the other side of the lake she heard a noise from behind the bushes and trees. But before she could ask who it was a giant fist slammed right through the center of a strong oak tree "where is the betrayer!" said a huge, demanding voice "Where is the one who betrayed us!" the fist recoiled and the same fist curled around the tree trunk but the fist started to mist off a greenish-blue steam as the bark and the wood began to crackle and decompose. "Where is that shadowed betrayer!"

To be continued.....
Well, chapter three is finally up! Sorry about the delay but I had some roadblocks. I had end of school exams. Then I had to visit my dad where his computer erased what I just wrote. So this is like my 3rth or 4th time re-writting. Hope you like it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
